Blue World Notes: First Custom Animations ROCK Blue Mars

The first custom animations are starting to appear in Blue Mars, and they rock -- literally. With the release of Blue Mars Beta 2.0, DavyRocket uploaded several new avatar animations he made himself, with 3D Studio Max 2010, using keyframes. "I found it's a very tedious process," he told me, chuckling, but never mind that: Now if you have a male avatar, you can rock out like a heavy metal headbanger, devil horns and all. (And if you're female, you can perform a high five.)

Both the headbanger dance and the high five are in DavyRocket's store in Misty Hollow (Blink teleport page here), which is directly behind you, when you first arrive to that city. Once you buy an animation, click the Animations icon in the Blue Mars viewer, then select it in the appropriate slot. The high five will be listed in the Other slots, and to get it working, you have to select it in all the slots; the headbanger is listed in the Dance slots, and you'll want to enable them in every slot there too. Now you are ready to deliver monster rock, Metallica-esque headbanging horns and/or feminine, Sex in the City-worthy high fives, as the case may be.
