Blue World Style: Blue Mars High Style at a Store Called grounded.

grounded. is a shop at the end of the main shopping promenade in Tharsis Estates (Blink Teleport), and it's stocked with clothing ranging from casual to avant garde, and even has a couple male skins for boys looking to break away from Moxxi and Electron Tri-D's popular skins. Some of it isn't necessarily to my personal taste (I'm a pretty opinionated fashion blogger after all) but I know a lot of Mars fashionistas will love this shop, especially anyone really looking to stand out in the crowd. Here are a few of my favorite pieces...

The structure of this bold black bubble skirt is eye-catching and very unique. I can see layering this with a black top with a dramatic cowl neckline or something similar, though I have a hard time fitting it into my own virtual wardrobe. The fabric texture on this skirt is also interesting, and I'd love to see it on something like a sheath dress as well.

This dress, called the iTutu, comes in a few different colors. It's another good example of the very structured designs and shapes prevalent in a lot of grounded.'s more cutting edge styles. The top is very sleep and fitted, and doesn't sit too loosely on the Blue Mars avatar body, which is a big plus in a dress like this!

Alongside the men's skins at grounded. are a couple of clothing items for the guys as well. I regret not mentioning this shirt, one of my favorite items here, during October-- it would have had an extra level to it in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, though even now I think it makes a pretty solid statement. It's also a definite step away from a lot of the men's t-shirts elsewhere in Blue Mars.

I love floral prints to death, and if I could dip every item I own in this super sweet pastoral pattern I would do it in a heartbeat. This dress is called the Lounging Dress, and if you're not as in to the sweetly feminine pattern there are other colors available, as with most of the designs at grounded.

This last design is likely one of the most complicated in the shop, at least in terms of its mesh. The wrinkles, folds, bunches, and flares of this top really show the effort of the design, though I think it would also benefit from some slightly more aggressive texturing to make it feel more like a physical garment. The best Blue Mars clothing is always a mix of detailed meshwork and texturing that compliments that mesh.

  1. I liked Grounded. But then again I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.
